There are moments in life when you feel that you have done everything you possibly could, yet your dream still seems out of reach. My journey to motherhood was long, filled with challenges, uncertainty, tears, but also with hope that I refused to give up.
I began my IVF journey at the age of 49. As a surgeon, I understand medicine, science, and the importance of evidence-based care. Yet, when you become a patient yourself, you also realize how essential empathy, trust, and human support truly are.
When I decided to pursue my dream at Assisting Nature Clinic in Thessaloniki, I was not only looking for medical expertise. I was looking for a team that would understand how important every step of the journey is, how much every piece of news means, and how valuable a patient’s trust truly is. From our very first contact until the day of my embryo transfer, I experienced exceptional professionalism, outstanding organization, dedication, and, just as importantly, genuine compassion and support.
Every stage of the treatment was carefully explained and managed with patience and kindness. Every question I had was answered, and throughout the entire process I always felt that I was not alone. That sense of trust gave me the strength to move forward with confidence and hope.
Today, as I write these words, my six-month-old son, Relja, is by my side. Every single day he reminds me that some dreams are worth fighting for, no matter how long the journey may be. His smile, his first hugs, the way he rolls around exploring the world, and the curiosity in his eyes are proof that miracles can happen when outstanding medical care is combined with knowledge, experience, and genuine humanity.
Words can never fully express my gratitude to the entire team at Assisting Nature. Thank you for being part of the most important chapter of my life and for helping me achieve what I had dreamed of for so many years—to become a mother.
To everyone who is still on this journey, especially to those who worry that age has taken away their chance, I want to say this: never lose hope. Every journey is unique, and every treatment outcome is individual, but sometimes all it takes is the right team, one opportunity, and one successful embryo transfer to change your life forever.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for changing my life. Thank you for making it possible for my world to be filled with the laughter and love of my little boy, Relja. You did not just help create a pregnancy—you helped create a family, and for that I will be forever grateful.
For years, I dreamed of hearing one word: “Mom.”
Today, I hear laughter instead.
Every journey has a destination. Mine is called Relja.
And every smile on his face reminds me that hope is always worth holding on to.
