One of the most rewarding gifts that you can give is the gift of life. Assisting Nature IVF Unit’s Egg Donor program has been created specifically for that purpose and is here to facilitate the matching process between egg donors and recipient couples. Our donor coordinators work closely with donors, recipients, and medical staff to make sure that the process is smooth, confidential, and easy to understand. Some women feel the urge to help couples become parents through egg donation.
Understanding the process of egg donation can help you decide if being an egg donor is the right choice for you. Being an egg donor begins with a screening process. In order to be an egg donor, women must meet the following requirements:
Women who meet the above requirements undergo a thorough screening process to determine if they are physically and mentally suited for egg donation. Once a potential donor has passed the screening process, being an egg donor continues with the use of fertility medication to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs for retrieval. The fertility medication is administered via injection. The injections are delivered with a small needle and is injected just before the skin. You’ ll self inject the medication every morning and evening after being shown how to administer the medication in our office.
When the eggs have reached the desired maturation, they are retrieved under sedation by use of a needle. The process takes 10-20 minutes and has a recovery time of a one hour, with a follow up visit a week or two after retrieval. Assisting Nature IVF Unit is an world renowned leader in egg and embryo vitrification, total freezing strategy and we pioneered the frozen egg and embryo bank. Because our donors are banking eggs or blastocyst of their recipients for use later, in most cases, there is no need to synchronize your cycle with that of the recipient. You are able to donate eggs on your cyclical schedule.
Why donate my eggs at Assisting Nature IVF?
Many donors choose to donate their eggs to help couples who are struggling with infertility. Couples who have chosen to use an egg donor may have tried other routes to parenthood unsuccessfully and are seeking a biological bond with their baby. By using an egg donor, they will have the opportunity to carry their baby to term, often that shares a male partner’s genetic material.
